Hi,
Our school is about to embark on planning for the next four years. As part of this process, schools participate in a very formal review which is conducted by three external educators. This review takes place over three days and covers all aspects of our teaching and learning processes. Last week I received the document that recognises the things our school is doing well and the areas that may require attention. It is with a great level of pride and gratitude towards all of the members of the school team that we have been recognised very positively by the review team. We are doing the right work and heading in the right direction. This feedback will inform our next four year plan. In the next few weeks I will be sending home an email to all families with a link to a survey to collect your thoughts on where you believe our school should place its priorities over the next four years.
Further to the review process, our school is currently being financially audited to ensure our administrative practices are appropriate and effective. Whilst I have not yet received the formal outcome, conversations with the auditor to date indicate quality implementation of clear and effective processes. My congratulations to the admin team. This work will also inform our next four year plan.
A minor change has been made to our “Homework Policy". Discussions with past students and parents have indicated that the jump in homework demand from primary school to high school is significant. To bridge this gap and support the learning practices of our students, Year six students during Semester Two will see a gradual increase in homework requirements. The changed policy can be viewed on our web site using the following link.

Work continues on our new toilet block. Whilst the actual block is open for student use there is still work going on around it with concreting and turfing. We hope that by the end of next week it should be almost fully completed. As for the lift……… it's driving me crazy. Contractors are supposed to be on site next week. Here's hoping!
Next Friday our school recognises “Day for Daniel". On this day our teachers will discuss personal safety with their students. Students are encouraged to wear red on this day and bring a gold coin donation that will be passed on to this charity.
