Student achievement is determined by whether or not students have been consistently following school rules. These are based directly on our school values and are outlined in the table on the following page. There are four levels of award to achieve – Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.
Personal Achievement Awards Aim:-
to promote and positively acknowledge student behaviour reflecting our school values
to promote consistent, school-wide, shared language around our school values and student behaviour
to provide timely feedback to students and their families about individual progress
to allow individual rates of achievement based on regular goal setting and reflection
Process for monitoring and reporting:
Teachers conduct reflections as frequently as preferred, with a minimum of at least one monthly reflection, on student behaviour.
Data from reflections is entered into a database specifically designed to record and monitor student progress.
Teachers determine whether or not each of the school rules have been consistently and regularly demonstrated since their last reflection.
In determining that a student has not been consistently demonstrating a school rules, there must be a behaviour record in the school database indicating that the
Once a teacher determines that a student has demonstrated a school rule, it should not be altered in subsequent reflections for that student in that level of award.
Teachers inform students of their individual progress through regular and ongoing informal discussions.
Once a student has regularly and consistently demonstrated each of the school rules, they will receive a levelled award.
Awards are presented on school assembly. The second last and final assembly of the term will be set aside for P-3 and 4-7 presentations respectively. This is in case of ‘bottle-necks’ in presentations.
School Administration will print and send ‘reports’ for students. This gives families/students a chance to identify goals students may need to achieve before the end of semester and School Report Cards are developed.
These targets are a general guide of what could typically be expected, however may vary for individual students depending on their rate of personal achievement.
