Bursaries

​​​Each year, a variety of community organisations and families donate bursaries to our school to present to winning applicants at end of year school ceremonies. The bursaries are sent directly to the schools the winners intend to attend the following year, to help contribute to the cost of their education.​

There are several types of bursaries, students may apply for more than one type of bursary, but be awarded no more than one.

Criteria for Whole Being Bursaries:

Describe your time at school addressing each of our Whole Being Habits – Happy, Grateful, Resilient, Aware, Positive and Healthy along with our school values – Respect, Effort, Fun (while being Safe), Confidence and Partnerships.​

Criteria for Sports bursaries

In addition to the general criteria, highlight your time at school in terms of – 

·         Sports Days

·         Your dedication to sports lessons and learning in HPE 

·         Your representation in sports at school events and outside school activities/events e.g. KCD or Capricornia representation; Sports Club representation; Interschool Sports

Criteria for Arts bursaries

In addition to the general criteria, highlight your time at school in terms of – 

·         Your application to arts activities and programs such as Instrumental Music, Choir, The Arts lessons 

·         Your representation in arts outside school activities/events e.g. eisteddfods and competitions.

Criteria for Science bursaries

In addition to the general criteria, highlight your experiences in Science in terms of:

·         A or B academic results

Ability to work like a scientist:

  • Resilience when things don't go to plan
  • Persistence to get the job done
  • Aware of others – demonstrates being a team player – puts in, supports and encourages strengths of team members, shares responsibilities, cooperates/gives kind, constructive and positive feedback
  • Happy and Positive attitude 
  • Curious and questioning about the world

 

Criteria for Japanese bursaries

In addition to the general criteria, highlight your time at school in terms of –

·         Your application to Japanese activities and programs and academic performance in Japanese assessments.

Your participation in Japanese cultural and enrichment activities and/or clubs

Criteria for academic bursaries

Overall Academic Bursary

In addition to the general criteria, highlight your time at school in terms of –

·         Your academic performance in school assessments and report cards.

·         Your academic performance in state/national testing (e.g. above State/National benchmarks).​

Year 5

A $100 Whole Being Bursary donated by the Queensland Country Women's Association. The aim of a financial bursary supports the student's endeavours in the following year. This bursary is awarded to a student who consistently demonstrates and practices our Whole Being Habits. This student participates and applies themselves in all they do.
