Recognition, Awards & Celebrations:

Every Friday at Assembly we have the opportunity as a school to come together, acknowledge and celebrate the many great things that our students achieve and reflect on the opportunities the students have experienced each week. We welcome the attendance of our families and friends to join us.

Personal Achievement Awards are presented by class teachers regularly. These promote and positively acknowledge student behaviour reflecting our school habits. They are determined by whether or not students have been consistently following school rules and practicing our six habits. There are four levels of award to achieve – Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.

Aussie of the Month is awarded to one student in each class. Students who display consistent effort, positive attitudes and practice our school values and habits are chosen by their class teacher to receive one of these awards.

Leap Pins are presented to students who earned 'Leap' points from their participation in Leap projects. These projects generally require the students to put in time and effort that is over and above our normal class expectations. This could be attendance at before school reading groups, lunchtime Robotics or other clubs or activities.

Habit Awards are drawn out weekly. Students who have consistently displayed Zone behaviour in class or the playground earn raffle tickets that provide them with opportunities to earn an icy pole from the tuckshop.

Bursaries

Each year, a variety of community organisations and families donate bursaries to our school to present to successful Year 5 and 6 applicants at end of year school ceremonies. The bursaries are sent directly to the schools the winners intend to attend the following year, to help contribute to the cost of their education.

Diamond Awards.

Diamond awards are awarded to the two highest achievers in each class for the year. Recipients are awarded the Diamond award using the following criteria:

  • Overall level of achievement in all of the eight learning areas over the two semesters.

Recipients will be considered and chosen by the school leadership team in consultation with the class and specialist teachers. In the event that multiple students have the same overall results, individual assessment tasks in the learning areas will be considered.
