Welcome to Term 3 all new and returning students. We hope everyone enjoyed their break and are ready for a great term. We have already achieved some awesome things with our some of our senior students competing in the Regional Shield Netball and Rugby League teams events in Rockhampton on Thursday and Friday. Congratulations to our Netball team who were the Division 3 winners and achieved 9th position out 36 overall. Our footballers played well improving with each game and were runner's up for “The Plate". Congratulations to Braxton who received a special mention from an opposition team for his excellent sportsmanship and kindness on the field! A fantastic display of “Being Awesome!" Thank you to Ms Willoughby, Miss Hoppe and Mrs Stacpoole who facilitated the two days with the students and gave up a considerable amount of their own time to ensure our students could participate. It was wonderful to know that the teams were supported by many parents and carers over the two days as well.

Semester 1 Report Cards: At the end of last term you should have received by email your children's report cards. If you have not received these please check your junk mail first and then contact the school office if it is not there. We have noticed that our system does not always interact successfully with some 'hotmail' email addresses, unfortunately this is not an issue we can control. If you have had difficulty with this, please let the office know and if you have an alternative email address you may find this is more successful.

Writers Festival: During our Friday assembly we acknowledged four of our students who participated in the Capricorn Coast Writers competition. Congratulations to these budding writers, Isabella, Mitchell, Luke and Eva.

Winter Jumpers: On Friday I gave all the students a reminder of the importance of naming their belongings and in particular their jumpers. We have a large number of jumpers that are not named and will be placed along the walkway on Tuesday morning for carers and students to claim. Please ask your child to check there if you are missing any clothing. Unclaimed clothing will be sent to Vinnies at the end of the week.

NAIDOC Week “For Our Elders":  This week we will be acknowledging NAIDOC week with lunchtime activities, artwork displays and a special assembly on Friday. All parents and carers are welcome to attend our assembly and the morning tea afterwards.

School Camps: In Term 4, Year 4 and 5 students with attend camps. Families will receive information and payment details for camps later in the term.

Term 4 Week 3: Year 4 Konomie Island Environmental Education Centre - 2 nights/3days

Term 4 Week 2: Year 5 Boyne Island Education Centre – 3 nights/4 days

We are currently working on finalising the camps programs and costs. We would like to make families aware that costs will be between $210 - $260 for Konomie Island and $310-$360 for Boyne Island. Costs include transport, accommodation, activities and food.

Have a great week and an awesome term!

Ellen
