Week 9:
Last week we celebrated Under 8's with a morning of activities. A special thanks to Coastal Kids and the Emergency Services for joining us for the morning.
Our Prep students had the wonderful opportunity to experience the performance of Edward the Emu at the Pilbeam Theatre.
Lunchtimes were exciting and a little tiring as the Year 3 to 6 students challenged themselves with our 800m races. Congratulations to all the students who participated and earnt points for their houses.
On Friday we recognised our June 'Aussie of the Month' students. It is always a pleasure to recognise the students who actively practice our habits and values in everything they do.
Week 10:
We are ending this term with a jam-packed week of events.
Monday: Yesterday we had a Lock Down practice to ensure students and staff are familiar and comfortable with our safety procedures. The purpose of this procedure is to keep students and staff safe during a hazardous situation where the outside environment may pose a safety risk. Our drill ran smoothly with all classes following the procedures calmly and efficiently.
Tuesday - Yeppoon High School Transition Day: Year 6 students began their High School transition process with a visit to Yeppoon High. All Year 6 students were invited to participate in this day. Students were required to arrange their own transport to and from the high school for the day.
Wednesday - Sport Day:
Prep to Year 2: 9am-12:30pm Junior Sports Day: All Prep to Year 2 students will participate in a fun filled morning of races and physical activities.
Year 3 to 6: 1:00pm-3:00pm Senior Sports Day: The afternoon begins our Senior Sports Carnival days with the 100m and 200m sprint heats.
Thursday - 9am-3pm Senior Sports Day: Year 3 to 6 Track and Field events. There is a special tuck shop menu for the day for ALL students. Please check QKR! for details.
Friday - KCD Gala Sports Day: Year 5 & 6 students will be participating in a Gala Sports Day at Barmaryee Sports Complex. Students will be playing Rugby League, Flag Footy and Netball with students from schools across the coast. Parents please check your emails for details.
School Opinion Survey: The annual suite of School Opinion Surveys will be conducted in Term 3 and will close on 12 August 2022. All families, school staff and students in target year levels (5, 6, 8 and 11) will be invited to participate. We encourage you to take this opportunity to have your say about what our school does well, and how we can improve.
An invitation to complete the Parent/Caregiver Survey will be emailed to one parent/caregiver per family in the week beginning 11 July. The invitation will be sent from the Department of Education, not the school, and it will have the subject line School Opinion Survey for parents and caregivers, 2022. Check your junk email folders if you can't find it. The survey can be completed as soon as the invitation is received and will take approximately 5 minutes using a computer, tablet or smart phone.
Parents/caregivers who do not have access to the internet at home are welcome to complete their survey online at the school. School computers/tablets will be available.

Semester One Reports: On Friday, Semester One Report Cards will be emailed home. These reports will inform you of your child's level of achievement in each of the learning areas along with a rating for effort and behaviour. This judgement is based on the evidence of your child's performance using a folio of work and assessments that have been completed this semester. We encourage you to sit with your child and discuss their report and celebrate the learning they have completed this semester. If you have any questions contact your child's teacher.
Term 3 commences on Monday 11 July.
We hope you all have a safe and relaxing break. We look forward to seeing you all in Term 3.
