The end of Term 3 is rapidly approaching and we continue to have a full calendar of events.

Japanese Restaurant Excursion: This week we have our Year 6 students visiting Tsuruya Japanese Restaurant on Thursday. This excursion will provide them with the experience of eating authentic Japanese cuisine and learning more about Japanese Culture.

Superhero Day: Friday 9 September:  Students are invited to come to school on Friday dressed as their favourite superheros. A gold coin donation is requested as we are raising funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation. We are looking forward to seeing all of our heroes!

Week 10:

Year 5 Camp:  Year 5 students are off to Boyne Island Environmental Education Centre on Tuesday. Students will be participating in Mission Impossible where, in teams, they participate in an exciting mission to escape from a deserted island. They are challenged to use their critical thinking skills and leadership. There will be team building and high and low ropes activities as well as many more missions.

Students will be accompanied by Mrs Franceschin, Ms Hoppe and Mrs Karner. I would like to acknowledge and thank these teachers for organising and attending the camp and giving up their own family time so that our students can have this wonderful opportunity.

Cricket Gala Day: On Thursday 15 September Ms Willoughby will be escorting several of our Year 6 students to the Cricket Gala day. We hope a fun day is had by all.

Aussie of the Month:  Our September Aussie's of the Month will be acknowledged during our final assembly for Term 3. Students who practice our habits daily and follow our rules and values are recognised by receiving an “Aussie". Receiving an Aussie is something both students and parents should be proud of.

Grounds Work: Our improvements to our ground and facilities continue and we look forward to seeing these projects completed soon.

Term 4 Events and Reminders:

School resumes on Tuesday 4 October

Year 4 Camp:  In Week 3 our Year 4 students are invited to attend the Konomie Island Environmental Education Camp. Invoices and permission notes have been sent home this term. This is another fun filled and educational adventure for our students.

LEAP into PREP 2023:  Our LEAP into PREP sessions begin for our 2023 Prep students. If you have a child starting Prep in 2023 or know someone who does, make sure their enrolment is completed and they are booked into our LEAP into PREP sessions. Future students attend for 3 sessions of fun activities and the chance to meet the Prep teachers and experience some activities in our Prep classrooms.

Yeppoon High School Transitions:  Year 6 students will be invited to attend more transition days at Yeppoon High School. Students will attend and meet the other students who will be in their class group in 2023 and experience some lessons and meet some of their Year 7 teachers. Students must have their high school enrolment completed and have attended an interview prior to attending these days.

Day for Daniel: Brave Conversations:  Friday 28 October is Day for Daniel. This is another opportunity for students to come out of uniform and raise money for a good cause. Students are asked to wear a red shirt and bring along a gold coin donation to raise funds for the Daniel  Morcombe Foundation.

I will be on leave for Week 10 and Ms Tiffany Hunter will be Principal in my absence. I hope that all families have a safe and enjoyable holiday.

Ellen
