Hi Mums and Dads,
Term 2 has kicked off with a busy time ahead already being planned. You may have noticed through recent Facebook posts that our old toilet block has been demolished. We have two very basic temporary toilet blocks in place while the new block is being constructed. It is a great step forward for us as we have been trying to get this work started for over eight years. Additionally a lift is being constructed to allow equitable access to the rooms at the top of B Block and our Library. Both projects are due to be finished by the middle of the year.
This Friday morning students will be recognising the men and women who fought and died in war at our ANZAC assembly.
As in previous years students and parents are invited to the town's ANZAC march and presentation on Sunday morning. Students who are participating in the march will be representing our school and are required to wear school uniform. We gather outside the Pine Beach Hotel at 8:00am with step off at 8:30am and the service commences at approximately 9:30am. In order to be respectful during this time I ask that our school keep talking to a minimum and we attempt to march in an organised fashion. At the conclusion of the march students sit for approximately an hour listening to the ANZAC presentation. Whilst staff will be in attendance, students are under the care of parents during this time. In past years and I assume again this year children receive an ice block at the conclusion.
