Day for Daniel - Wear Red • Educate • Donate!

On Friday 27th October we will be participating in the Day for Daniel. Day for Daniel is Australia's largest national child safety education and awareness day. We encourage all students to wear red that day and if possible bring a gold coin donation for the Daniel Morcombe Foundation. The Daniel Morcombe Foundation would like to see a future where all children and young people are provided with education, protection, and support to be safe from abuse and risk of harm.

Zoo Excursion:

Our Year 3 students are off to explore the Rockhampton Zoo on November 2nd.  Students will visit the Zoo enclosures and have some fun and a picnic in the gardens. This excursion is supporting and developing their learning in English and HASS this semester.

Year 6 Students:

Year 6 students have an exciting and busy term as they prepare for their transition to their respective High Schools and finish off their final activities with us at Emu Park. Please watch for communication from Yeppoon High regarding Year 7 classes and the transition days for each class along with the final transition day for all students on Wednesday 29th November.

Year 6 Graduation Night:

We will be holding a Graduation Ceremony for our Year 6 students and their parents on Tuesday 5th December. Further information will follow soon.

Colour Fun Run:

We will be holding a Colour Splat Fun Run during the last week of term. Students will require a white shirt to wear on the day. Remember this shirt will get very colourful during the event and will no longer be white!

Parenting Courses: Two highly recommended courses to support parents and carers.

Triple P – Positive Parenting Program – Online Course

In a complex, changing world with anxiety rising among school-age children, school leaders know firsthand the everyday challenges parents and carers face raising calm, resilient and happy children. They also know how this can significantly affect school environments.

Ideally, children would be able to make friends easily, resolve disputes without fights, follow directions, feel confident tackling challenges, listen well and plan for things like homework. But it can be hard for parents to know where to turn to get trusted, evidence-based support.

Now, parents and carers can get proven support with free access to online parenting courses developed in Australia by the Triple P – Positive Parenting Program®, thanks to funding from the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care.

In addition to strengthening the bonds between home and school, the programs can reinforce your school's commitment to creating a caring environment for students to learn, grow and thrive. Please see our school's Facebook page for details.
